Hi,

A few weeks back I experienced something very similar-

I had just bought the original Crest whitestrips and waited a week before using them. The previous time I used them, there was no problem besides the revealing of previous lines I had in a few teeth.

However, during the first day, the first time I put both the top and bottom in something really different happened. I started getting a light pain around my lower right canine..I thought it was the strips doing their stuff, but it dissipated but then came on tenfold a few minutes later- the pain was much more intense. Again, I thought it was the whitestrips working especially hard on that area..

It dissipated once more as it had done before, however, minutes later, without warning, the sharpest pain burst in my jaw. I felt as if my tooth had shattered. I went straight to the sink, took the strips out and rinsed thoroughly and a large crack, spanning vertical from the point down through the gum, down my canine was clear. I had to do a double take because I thought I was seeing things. My tooth hurts just thinking about it.

People say that the strips naturally reveal previous cracks made due to stress or something else, however, this crack was directly caused by the strips. Now my tooth is EXTREMELY sensitive, even just drinking normal tap water hurts it (any slight variation-whether hotter or colder- makes my tooth hurt).

I'm a student, just recently lost my health insurance, and have no money to go see a dentist. I'm not sure how to go about it, but I- like you- want Crest to pay for my dental fees. Do you, or anybody else, have any advice as to what I should do, being in my situation?
