The simple answer is no manufactured store bought probiotic or any cultured probiotic, including yogurt or kefir, are capable of "repopulating" the bowel on a permanent basis. They will not "implant", "colonize",
"replace" or in any way restore the microbiota that has been eliminated from the GI tract either from the use of Antibiotics or any other detrimental means. Probiotics may have a short term benfit in aiding digestion and elimination and possibly some other positive sffects but these only last as long as they are consumed. Seems there is alot of misinformation out here about taking probiotics
to rectify dysbiosis after Antibiotic use, and much of this info is promulgated by doctors and the medical establishment to cover there buts after they have destroyed your immune system. Once you have been nuked with Antibiotics , it is extremely naive to think that a few billion "bugs"of a few species chiefly manufacturd by the dairy industry, can in some way, replace the complex network of 4-5000 species of microflora that reside in the Human gut.
