Re: Terminal Liver Cancer
Hveragerthi,

"Inflammation in not necessarily a bad thing. It is actually a major part of the healing process. And here we have a chicken and egg question. Which came first? Did the inflammation cause the cancer or is a result of the cancer, which causes tissue damage? And is it the damage to the cells that allows the cancer pathogens to take hold?
Response...
I agree. Inflammation is not necessarily a bad thing. It is actually a protective measure by the body against injury or invasion of the body by a pathogen.
I broke my left wrist several years ago after falling from a ladder onto hard floorboards; it was difficult to establish any breakage as there was no pain, but within a few minutes the wrist began to swell, and markedly so. Inflammation is a measure by the body in protecting that injury.
This analogy means that inflammation within the cancerous tumor or area is a response to the invasion of the body by toxins and other carcinogens. The chicken therefore comes first, and the egg a most definite second place.
Your comment.........
"So can cancer be "caught"? The answer is YES!!! The Rous sarcoma virus that infects chickens was shown to be an airborne cancer virus. In humans the best evidence of this was seen with David the "Bubble Boy". David died from B cell lymphoma from the Epstein Barre' Virus (EBV) he contracted from a bone marrow transplant he got from his sister who was infected, asymptomatically, with EBV. Other known contagious cancer viruses include hepatitis viruses and human papilloma viruses. So are you really saying that these viruses are not contagious? If so then how do they end up in our body"?
Response....
The American Cancer Society..........
Is Cancer Contagious?
No, cancer is NOT contagious.
Cancer is not contagious. A healthy person cannot "catch" cancer from someone who has it. There is no evidence that close contact or things like sex, kissing, touching, sharing meals, or breathing the same air can spread cancer from one person to another.
Cancer cells from one person are generally unable to live in the body of another healthy person. The person's immune system recognizes the cancer cells and destroys them............................

AND........
"So are you really saying that these viruses are not contagious? If so then how do they end up in our body"?
Response...
Viruses end up in our body because of the metabolic-environment that allows them to take hold, namely: toxemia.
A bodily environment which is conducive to attract viruses.
A toxemic-free body does not allow viruses to establish themselves.
Your comment.......
"But again exposure to a virus DOES NOT mean guaranteed active infection. If the immune system is sufficiently strong it can fight off the pathogen successfully. If this were not the case then our medical personnel would be ill".
Response....
This is accurate and true because viruses do not affect everyone exposed.
Your comment.........
First of all the term "liver flush" is misleading. The olive oil stimulates gallbladder contractions. It does not affect or detox the liver. And the bile does not play a role in preventing cancer. In fact it has been shown that due to the caustic nature of bile that when people have their gallbladders removed that their risk of intestinal cancer rises significantly.
So what was Gerson basing his "impaired liver" hypothesis on? In other words what basis did he use to consider the patient's liver impaired and what is he considering impaired? The reason I ask is because people FREQUENTLY mistake liver enzyme tests as an indicator of liver function.
Response........
Bile is only caustic if the diet allows it to be. Normal secretions of bile and other bodily fluids are manufactured by a natural plant-based diet and does not contribute to the formation of stones within the gallbladder or elsewhere within the body.
The risk of intestinal cancer is only increased by the removal of the gallbladder, if, and only if, these secretions are impaired from an abnormal diet, and not from a diet that is suited to our constitutions which manufactures normal secretions. .....................
"John H Tilden MD says: "When the catarrh of the liver is overcome, secretions become normal and stones disintegrate and pass out through the gall-ducts into the bowels, and then out of the body. No treatment, no surgery, is necessary." "A correct treatment," he says, "will be directed to removing the cause or causes of toxemia."
Removing the stones does not restore normal liver function, hence more stones will form after their removal. Draining the gall-bladder does not improve the body's nutrition. Removing the gall-bladder does not correct the catarrhal inflammation that caused the stone formation.
There can be but one cure for gall-stones. This is: restore the normal functioning of the liver so that normal bile will be secreted; then the normal bile will cause the stones to disintegrate and pass out. Correction of the inflammation makes gall-bladder drainage or extirpation unnecessary. Correction of gastro-intestinal catarrh renders surgical exploitation of the whole digestive canal unnecessary. The undesirable finish pictured under etiology may be avoided by correct living. Although physicians and surgeons are so unfamiliar with cause that they believe surgery alone can help and usually recommend this, the great army of post-operative invalids one sees everywhere attests that no real cure comes from this spectacular treatment. Operations leave cause at work, hence more pathology develops..............
George Weger MD says: Given proper assistance the chemistry of the body can be so altered that stones soften, disintegrate, and pass out with but slight discomfort. We have treated many cases and. seldom have we found it necessary to resort to surgery. It is a remarkable fact that softening occurs very rapidly on a complete fast. Frequently patients coming for treatment for different ailments develop hepatic colic from the eighth to the tenth day of fasting. In these the presence of gall stones may never have been suspected. The same is true of stones in the kidney. In recurrent attacks there is no treatment in the intervals to equal a diet restricted to fresh fruits, salads and cooked non-starchy vegetables. It can be safely predicted that there will be no recurrences in those patients who follow instructions as to diet and exercise. In most instances if the gall stone is not larger than a small olive it will become soft and pass out without resort to surgery and its consequent risks. The exceptions are in those run-down people who have no reserve vitality or courage left to sustain them for a reasonable time while nature is establishing a normal chemical balance. Extreme caution and conservatism on the part of the physician is necessary in determining the proper course in a given case. The process of recovery may seem slow but it is in reality marvelously rapid, compared with the long time it takes for the stones to form. * * * Without recourse to olive oil, bile salts, and the one hundred and one remedies that are generally prescribed, our percentage of non-surgical recoveries is so high as to warrant a favorable prognosis if the patient cooperates in the removal of the first cause."
An impaired Liver is tested by these, and within the Gerson protocol, not just by enzyme testing.........

In addition, water-only fasting will cleanse the organs of elimination that work overtime at its outset, as the purified blood that results, will cleanse and continue to cleanse ALL organs of the body; including the eliminatory organs such as the skin and kidneys and not just the liver, the most important organ of elimination.
