Re: I have to give up...

So sorry for you. I don't know what you have, but the only thing I can think of is that you have seborhea dermatitis that is much worse than most people's.

I have been reading the 'anti-inflammation zone' where it says that most disease is linked to silent inflammation, a condition that occurs when the body's natural immune response goes away. This occurs because of the high amounts of omega 6 consumed, and low amounts of omega 3. I really think there is something to that, as I remember that when it was suggested that I add evening primrose oil to help with pms, my seborrhea dermatitis worsened and my skin became so oily that any shampoo that I used would not lather.

A family member has been following the diet suggested, without adding the ultra-refined fish oil which is a part of the plan. Anyway, he just got bursitis this summer where he couldn't lift his right arm or even move it behind his back and he was in continuous pain so that he couldn't even sleep lying down and barely at all sitting up in his chair. After two weeks, with the only change being his diet, removing omega 6 oils, and adding high quality italien olive oil that contains hydroxytyrosol that inhibits the enzymes that produce pro-infammatory eiconanoids, he now can lift his arm almost all the way above his head and behind his back.

It has to do with high insulin levels which increase silent inflammation. So things like bread, pasta, rice, potatoes are broken down into glucose and rapidly released into the bloodstream creating higher release of insulin as opposed to fructose from fruits and vegetables which is rapidly absorbed but slowly converted to glucose in the liver, so that the glucose will enter the bloodstream at a much slower rate than from a complex carb and so less inflammation. This balanced with the right amount of protein at a meal to stimulate glucagon to maintain blood sugar levels in the brain is what is supposed to fix the insulin levels that contribute to inflammation.

The author suggests that even if you didn't follow the diet suggested. Just added the high dose ultra refined fish oil ...for chronic pain 7.5 grams to 10 grams a day, and not use butter and vegetable oils, you would see a difference within a month. Amounts that high would only be for short term and then lowered as improvements noted.

Don't know if what I am saying has ever been suggested to you, and don't know if I am really explaining it right since it is hard to condense a book into a few paragraphs to get the big picture, but if you haven't tried it before, what have you got to lose?

I know you're tired, but I hope you will give yourself another chance and not give up.
