Re: Slippery Elm for Bowel Disorders

Thanks so much, I will check out the SNH reference. That may be what I'm thinking of...

Diet - have been vegan for about two years, at the same time eliminated processed flours, sugars, etc. Sprout beans, lentils, grains before cooking whenever possible. Was doing better with the raw portion during the warm months, it has slipped a bit due to the weather (up here in Wisconsin, feeling the need for a bit more warming food in this cold, snowy weather). Yet, I always top cooked foods with things like raw garlic, spices, veggies, etc after cooking. Also, almost every weekday a BIG smoothie in the morning with frozen fruit and juice, and a couple tablespoons of a mix similar to Vitalerbs that I blend myself from the freshest organic ingredients (something I make for a local health food store).

Prior to winter I'd have a large quantity of raw veggies with spices and herbs in a sprouted tortilla many days for lunch, in addition to the smoothie in the morning. This would keep me mostly raw until dinner. Dinner, has generally been something cooked, but I try for stir-fries and steamed veggies frequently.

I am guessing that the bowel needs a break and some soothing, regenerative herbs to fully treat the cause. I figure that what I'm currently doing would probably be pretty good for treating other problems IF I had functioning bowels.

Someday SOON I would like to get rid of my glasses, and at some point I have an experiment or two in really pushing the limits I want to make happen.
