i think you've got it! and i also think you answered your own question...your guy is intense at work...i get that. your frank anti-weirdness angle is a good one...I like how you want to avoid the awkward and strange way the situation could turn if you made a big deal of it. i would avoid that path as well. we guys don't need to know everything our gals are thinking. trust me, keep it simple, light, and plenty of alkaline batteries ready and you'll be fine.
