Re: My digestive system has failed to start up after my last fast. Help!
"I broke the fast because I was feeling absolutely miserable..." Just speaking plainly, you likely broke the fast during a "re-tracing" of some earlier issue that had been subsequently suppressed (either with drugs or over-attention to getting {"symptoms" over and done with)
Also, (as you correctly intuit), you introduced too much too fast.
-including the "beano" and the "digestive enzymes". all this speaks of a rapid return to allopathic ways (treating symptoms)which is exactly what the
Water Fast aims to, and is so good at, if treated with real respect, unravelling...
I think there is a recent post here that links to "how and when to be your own doctor", a wonderful title in the "soil and health library"
Made available online for anyone to read...
Look down the first few posts and you are bound to find it.

I revisited it today, and was again so impressed by the breadth and depth of generosity and genuine knowing that characterizes the Hygienists and their wisdom.
If you connect with the mentioned material, I think you will see your way back to restarting the re-feeding. (Or having more calm patience with the process)And you will surely gain a lot of faith in going slow; and the 'whys',
and never stopping the

No judgement here though==only well-wishing. I water fasted 29 days, and began to eat again before "natural hunger" returned. It thus took me several weeks to gain back digestion and ordinary vitality. In the long run though, I DO see the value of it, regardless. It reset my whole bodily 'take' on food, and resolved several minor issues.(If I had only toughed it out, past the last few rough days, I feel sure it would have been so much easier and sweeter: the refeeding...
One thing I would wish others to know is to never stop a fast on a 'down'. Please think of reading the work cited
its very grounding stuff.
also consider: the human body works in cycles of seven:
seven days, and three cycles of seven days (21) can do a *lot* of good. In seven years, every single cell in the body has been replaced. Seven is a number to respect.
I quit my
Water Fast on the first day of a new seven cycle. I would probably have been better off quitting before--- (like at 21 days, when I still felt good, before I entered a new deeper phase of cleansing,) or--later, when the good feelings returned (as they always do)
