Interesting Cisco, I had the option of having my appendix removed, when it was grumbling (not my word). I decided against this as I had been talking with a couple of scientist friends, and they were discovering links between the removal of the appendix, and subsequent gut problems in later life, such as IBS, crones, colitis, and possible links with weight gain and hormonal problems ,etc. They are still working on this theory, but because there are so many variables, it is hard to see any causality. I decided that I'll hang on to mine until more is known about what the appendix actually does, and how it is interconnected with our other organs, I don't believe that any of our organs are expendable.

The theory of the appendix being related to immune function is my own theory, based on what I have observed during my years with the coroners dept. Particularly in regards to autoimmune diseases.

Darn it, I'm really gonna have to get back into research, so many theories, so little time.
