Re: Symptoms of hypoglycemia with normal blood sugar readings
Thanks Paulette.
In the UK we use the mmol/L scale.
Converting to mg/dl, my daytime blood sugars are around 113mg/dl 30 minutes after eating and 84mg/dl 2-3 hours after eating. Looks okay considering I’m hypoglycaemic.
After writing the original post in this forum I did try waiting a little longer after a meal that I felt was quite heavy, for which I felt symptoms were coming on a little early. The symptoms did eventually subside without need for food.
It could be a catch 22 situation that is only relieved by treating the underlying problem of the adrenals (or other causes of hypoglycaemia).
I see the options as...
- You wait say another half hour or so if you have a normal blood
Sugar reading and aren’t hungry. As a result the ‘symptoms’ pass and your body corrects your false symptoms by releasing hormones.
- You eat whenever you get any sign of symptoms, regardless of the blood
Sugar level, driving blood
Sugar up and generally eating more, putting more stress on your body and circulating insulin.
Neither are particularly favourable, but you probably have to go for the first option. Overeating thinking you are helping blood sugars must be unhealthy, not to mention the boost in circulating insulin which is generally bad for your body. In my case overeating carbs and binging was one of the causes for my poor health.
How is your health at the moment Paulette with regards to other symptoms?
