I thought they did well with very little water? Like in Africa in drought areas. I've read that the water might even stress them.

I live in a tropical area that almost never freezes. I'm thinking of growing some.

A green house would be good in colder areas. Or as Excalibur says get them growing inside and then move or plant them outside as soon as it's warm enough.
