Re: How I lost 100 pounds
I just want to thank you for sharing your experience with everyone. You'd written me when I posted in the fasting forum. I found that going immediately on a fast with my health issues PLUS my ingrained bad eating habits was just too much for me to take physically. But I wanted to let you know that I did manage to fast (light juicing, mostly water for 2 days) when I 'binged' and ate way too many raw cashews that second night. Since I have been eating mostly raw veggies (I did eat a couple of bites of an organic steak I was cooking my son) other than that I've been doing great, eating what I should and just last night, I didn't eat when I woke up at 12.. as I usually do when I wake up feeling 'hungry'... I kept thinking, "I need to allow my body to fast during the night"..
I am doing my best to reset these old habits. I know the hard part will come in NOT going back to my old way of eating. My husband is on board with me for the time being. We did Gillian McKeith's plan once for a couple of months (from "you are what you eat") .. we both lost some weight and started feeling great. Today I am purging my kitchen of anything that I need to get rid of (processed foods, sugars, etc) and I'm going shopping for what I need to succeed in living a healthy lifestyle.
I am marking this post (along with some of your others) as favs... thanks so much for the reading material and websites you suggested. They are helping me so much.. knowledge is power.
Take care, :) Penny
