Claire, Thanks for the great post. Several things struck cords with me. I am on day 12 but hope to do 40. At first I didn't tell anyone how long I was planning on doing either. My sister's reaction was no you can't it's not healthy etc.. My husband has actually been more supportive than I thought he would be.
The following statement you made is exactly why I looked into the MC. "When you feel like you can't go on anymore feeling that sluggish, unmotivated, & unhappy, you need to do something big to dig out of that hole. And as we all know it is a big hole, full of toxins"
In the past I had dieted, did the EAS Muscle Media program which had you eating lots of protein and 6 meals a day. It did work. I lost weight and looked good, but it didn't correct the internal problems I was having with food. ie.. eating all the wrong foods and thinking food would solve my problems. I really feel this is the right path for me. I plan on using these 40 days to re-order my priorties with food and what foods I shall eat. I am trying hard to elliminate the desire for McDonals and other fast foods.
