Throughout Dr. Christopher's writings you'll find a few instances where he allowed a tiny bit of butter.
Now that we have SO much more information on how pasteurization harms dairy (AND we have the issue of the growth hormones & antiobiotics), I kinda doubt he would have allowed any.
But there's also the very really issue of 'adjusting' and not pushing ourselves so hard to give up foods we've eaten for a lifetime that we end up binging or being emotionally stressed.
Once or twice a year I treat myself to a 1/2 pound of raw milk, organic butter. I take half of each carton, melt it, and blend it in equal parts with top-quality olive oil. YUMMY for sure.
I save the rest of it for my absolute favorite steamed veggies (particularly asparagus :) ...using it sparingly of course.
I wouldn't use butter/dairy at ALL when in cleansing/healing mode...but when my body is feelin' wonderful, I know it can handle a teaspoon or two of healthy butter with no problem :)
