Great Post + Edit.......Re: thoughts, thinks, suggestions...and MEAT (vegan diet) :) Re: ok.. so, what next?

Man oh man, that was great Uny!!!

I think this post deserves a BSA for sure.

This precious tidbit needs to be taped to everyones fridge.

"Remember a full 65% of the energy our body uses daily is spent on the process of digestion...with meat & dairy, your body will be processing it at 'full energy expenditure' for several hours after you've eaten each meal - with juice & raw foods, we're looking at a few minutes to an hour.  Do we/you want 65% of the body's energy to go toward digesting food that wears out your machine?  Or do you/we want that energy to go to the process of healing & restoring?"

When you put it like that it makes sense, we should treat our bodies like a well oiled machine and make it last as long as we can.  Why in the world would we want to make our bodies work so hard when we can achieve great health without all that meat and dairy?  It makes even more sense if we're trying to heal ourselves.

And this is great too.

"But I know of a TON of people who decide to be 'vegetarian', drop meat & dairy from their diets, and live on canned beans; mucous-forming dead grains; health destroying processed 'meat substitutes', and foods from 'health food' markets that are every bit as toxic as what's in a normal store (and just as full of GM foods).   The goal is not to cut out the meat & dairy and replace it with something just as toxic & unnatural - the goal is to take responsibility for our health and change our diets (and our taste buds) to what is TRULY healthy and 100% natural."

I've often heard of vegetarian's who have gained a ton of weight, it must be the ones you're talking about Uny.  The ones who just exchange one toxic food for another.

Thank you so much for this post Uny.  It is loaded with information I needed to make complete my change in diet.  I find I'm having a hard time giving up real butter for my baked potatoes although I've got it down to one tiny pat.  But I do realize that dairy is dairy and there is no getting around it LOL.

Buckets of Blessings to you.

Willow

Edit:

One more thing besides the butter I'm having a very difficult time leaving is the cottage cheese.  I LOVE lowfat cottage cheese but the thing is every time I eat it I feel like I've got extra mucous. This tells me it is NOT good for me, I'm sure I'll find that in the article you linked to Uny ha ha.

Edit again;

Yup, I was right.  Right there is the "do not eat" section was cottage cheese just staring me in the face, DARN.
