Re: a hair loss topical that actually works
hans the only time i've ever spoken with the guy briefly(he answered questions) was on a hair loss forum. no one knows how to get in touch with him. i have basically provided all the information that you need anyway, i revised my post with instructions, i *think* i thought of everything. the only other thing i can think of is don't apply too much of it at night. just like you don't want to take b vitamins at night unless you want especially vivid dreams. but they can also cause temporary insomnia. if you apply small amounts as recommended of course there should be no issue, and its never personally caused me problems. but some people have drenched their scalps with it and had weird dreams all night. it is just from the vitamin B6 absorption. i'm not trying to freak people out, just unload all the facts.
Dan, many people, in fact almost all have tried to improve the formula somehow. none of them have had results, and then often claim that the formula doesnt work when in fact they aren't even using the real formula. the best thing that i've found is to just leave it as it is. the only thing that has helped was increasing the amounts of vitamins to the ratio of water. however we don't want to over-do it. checking on some recent studies and interpreting the data, it seems we've got a formula with optimum concentration now. some guys with chemistry backgrounds interpreted the data and figured out that we just happened to accidentally *stumble* on the right amount. adding too much zinc can cause zinc toxicity, metal taste in the mouth etc..also some studies have claimed that zinc in extremely high amounts can damage hair follicles over time. be cautious, don't overdo this. what we have right now seems to be just right.
although some things seem like maybe they could help if they were added, often they just throw off the overall chemical makeup of the formula doing god knows what. from a scientific point of view it best to leave it as is, because we know that it works. if one wants to try experimenting, i suggest its after he/she has used the formula as it is for months and seen that it actually does work for them on an individual basis. then they can try adding something to see if it improves or worsens the actions of the formula. its the only way we can know. of course everything is at ones own risk.
the vitamins/minerals were chosen for specific reasons. zinc sulphate and vitamin B6 have specifically and synergistically been proven through medical abstracts/studies to inhibit very high amounts of DHT. many of us believe that it does more than just inhibit DHT because of the way that it grows hair. it may also double as a growth stimulator, or help rejuvenate hair follicles but we really don't know just yet. we do know that it can grow hair, and is going to be much more safe than any chemicals you would put on your head, or internal hormone altering drugs. i see people on hair loss forums all the time complaining of symptoms of gynecomastia (enlarged breast) from taking drugs such as propecia/proscar and dutasteride. that path i will never choose !
at any rate i consider myself to be a fairly logical individual and i hope that people take my advice. i'm mainly speaking when it comes to expressing caution.
best wishes, Chris.
