This experience shows my lack of knowledge again -- I thought beta carotene is Vit. A. I have been taking beta carotene.
Beta carotene is a precursor for vitamin A. The body converts it in to vitamin A as needed, so it is much safer than vitamin A.
On a different subject, isn't the former thinking on cholesterol changing, as it is found that dietary cholesterol does not impact blood cholesterol?
I agree. If everything is working right, especially the liver, the body does a very good job of regulating its cholesterol. As levels of dietary cholesterol increase the production of cholesterol by the liver will decrease. As dietary cholesterol drops the synthesis of cholesterol by the liver increases. This is all based though on everything working properly, which is often not the case.
