I would point out though that before the US bombed Iraq, former president Jimmy Carter wrote an editorial in the New York Times saying it would be wrong to invade Iraq. That is very unusual - for a former US president to oppose the sitting president. Now both Carter and Clinton oppose Bush. Bush is crazy - blame him, not the American people.
