Day 6 - today went better! (long, but detailed post of my current experience!)

Hello all! This is the end of Day 6 of my water fasting. I woke up feeling great this morning, as I got 10 hours of sleep. I am going to try and make 10 hours of sleep (10pm-8:00am) my daily staple. =) It really seemed to make a difference.

I noticed that today I felt cravings still, but they seemed to be slightly healthier. I still craved Sugar mid-day, but I craved cake (not the icing, just the bread part). That, compared to the ice cream, brownies and cookies that I was craving earlier, seems like a positive sign to me! I know that sounds weird to say it was good to crave the cake bread part, but I was craving a *less sweet* food. The super sweet foods I craved early don't really appeal to me anymore. Nor does pizza, which was a big one for me! Actually really sounds too good right now. Haha, about 4 hours later. :)

Speaking of appetite-I have none! It is official-my hunger has completely disappeared! I know that any further cravings are all just physiological.

My mood was better today. I think it was the 10 hours of sleep that helped.

I felt a bit tired though. Not the "I cant lift my limbs" tired of yesterday (that was AWFUL) but just overall, I needed to take things slow. Stairs were hard. I ran to catch the bus (missed it) but after about 10 seconds of running (it was a dumb idea) I just started feeling funny-and I knew I needed to stop! So physical activity has come to a standstill-only the necessary walking around campus.

On that note, mental clarity is fine. I have enough energy to perform all of my studies well. In fact, for the most part, I am doing fine! No one seems to notice a difference in me at all, I mean I still act the same, so I find it funny that I have NOT EATEN for SIX DAYS and yet I am experiencing life in a very similar way! Before the fast I never would have believed one could simply stop eating for almost a week and feel normal!

I haven't really been religiously recording my weight loss for the time being, but I will post it tomorrow on my week-long mark. (Day 7!) Kind of a motivation to keep me going forward.

I really want to continue this fast to completion, and I hope I have enough energy to do about 20 more days and end up with a 26 day fast or something like that. But we'll see! It all depends on how much weaker I feel in the next week/2 weeks.

My shin splints are feeling better but I know they are not healed which is the primary reason for fasting, so I am hoping to lose a bit more weight and heal a bit more in these next 2 weeks. I lost weight at about 1.5-2.5 pounds a day for the first few days but now it has slowed to roughly a pound a day.

I am also expecting to regain at least 5 of those pounds after I stop. Does anyone know a good way to *estimate* how much weight I will regain, if I lose, say 25-30 pounds overall? Is there a percentage or anything I might be able to go by? =) I just want to know what to expect so I don't get discouraged afterwards! ;)

Thanks for the help! You guys are keeping me going a lot better than if it had just been me! I also really appreciate all the literature.

Thanks, and good luck to everyone else! It is HARD but it is WORTH it! :D (with great risk comes great reward!)
