Re: Ulcerative colitis in an 11 year old

Take seriously the recommendation to David Klein's book. Self healing for colitis from 7skeeter. It is real.

SCD diet works sort of because eliminates milk, soy, wheat as common irritants but not good enough. Plus meat eaters relapse in UC and Crohns according to studies.

Have the child become strict vegetarian. Get Kleins book and give it a real whirl for 4-8 weeks to a t.

Use CRON-o-Meter to check foods for nutritional make up. He will get 35 grams of protein or more on cantalope and bananas. It is amazing how fast it works.

My wife would get bloated on fruit too but not any more. She lives on bananas and cantalope etc. Food combining is a part of the issue. Perhaps in colitis proper digestion is impaired.

She has had Ulcerative Colitis for 4 years and this is the first time with the Klein book that things are really turning around. Truly amazing. Don't believe that fructose is your problem. The problem is digestion and that the fructose is being eaten with other foods.

Don't be scared of nutrition. Plenty and more there than most standard diets. I'd invite you to our home for a week if you lived near. John McDougall MD defends the vegan diet about as flawlessly as anyone.

Her bloating went away in 3 days and her stomach is flat as a board now. She used to feel and look like she was 3-4 months pregnant. So uncomfortable.

Thank you for David Klein and John McDougall.

All the best. Mike
