Re: Cause of last 4 months of hell?
I am so sorry for all of your suffering. Unfortunately, you are not alone. I have been reading this forum now for a little over a year, ever since I decided to remove my Mirena, and I would say that I have read about all of the symptoms that you have mentioned, except the myasthenia gravis.
I too retained a lot of fluid, and my legs were so swollen that I felt like a pregnant woman. That was when I realized that this horrible device was not for me. I don't know how much you have read on this forum, but the majority of doctors deny that Mirena caused the problems that women are having, and quite a few of them are very reluctant to remove it.
I would have it removed ASAP as many women here feel that the longer they have it, the worse their symptoms get. If you search this forum for your specific symptoms, you will find that a lot of women have had them, too. I have also read that women who have depression/anxiety issues should not have the Mirena as it can cause these problems and make them worse, so your Dr. did not do her job.
My advice would be to remove it and then wait to see if your other issues go away before having your surgery, if you can. This thing causes so many problems that it would not surprise me if you don't need the surgery after all.
Good luck !
