Could Candida cause Muscle Weakness? About ready to go to the doctor!
After several years of inactivity, I started lifting weights in November. I started out real slow. I recently upped the intensity by joining 24 Hour Fitness (March 1). I'm doing a total body workout using all compound exercises Monday, Wednesday, & Friday. For example, today I did Pull-ups, Squats, Deadlift, Incline Bench, Dips, and Shoulder Press.
Anyway, I noticed that my strength doesn't seem to be coming back like it should. I actually feel pretty damn weak considering I've been lifting since November. My energy level is pretty much toast. A 50 pound dumbbell feels like it weighs 100 pounds!
Also, in the past couple of months I've developed strange twitching. It started inside the left arm at the elbow. That went away and now I'm getting strange twitching all over. Most of the time it seems to be happening at the shin.
Lastly, I was feeling my bicep and noticed the muscle feels bumpy, not smooth.
I've also been hitting the Candida hard with a strict Paleo Diet and lots of anti-fungals like CO, Oregano Oil, etc.
So could the muscle weakness and other symptoms be caused by my bad case of Candida? Could this be die-off?
I'm getting ready to go to the doctor and have some tests done. My fear is that I've got MS, ALS, or something even worse. I'm hoping the muscle twitching is BFS. I'm worried about ALS because of the Muscle Weakness. I'm weak but I don't know if I'm weak enough to have ALS. I can still do five body weight pull-ups and today I did four sets of 5 body weight dips.
Oh, I almost forgot. My arms have been going numb while I'm sleeping. It seems to happen when I'm laying face down with my arms under the pillow. However, the other day, after a hard session of weights, my right forearm and hand went slightly numb. I also had a very slight tingle/numbness to the left hand. I took some Niacin that night and it was gone the next day.
I know I've had a pretty bad case of Candida for a while. However, all of these muscle and nerve issues didn't start until I started lifting weights.
Any help would be much appreciated.
