Re: The two options (edit)
No probs, I just saw from her post immediately before that one that she wanted to lose 50 pounds.
It's up to her which method she chooses, but the reality is that 50
pounds from someone who may have reduced metabolism from previous pasts is going to take around 6 months plus, provided healthy eating is done between fasts. Failing that the weight will go up, not down, that's how people become "regular customers" here, caught in that trap. Some have been here for 5 years trying to lose weight through fasting. Go click on some user IDs and look.
I think the other way it could be done in three months, or four if she needs to do a bit of healthy eating to start with. That should take care of other health issues such as the chronic fatigue issues and skin problems.
If fasting, I'd say 10 - 15 day fasts, planned so as to avoid social events, with gaps of 1.5 times the length of the fast, or until weight starts going down again while eating, which ever is the last. The usual thing, sunshine and rest on the fasts, and eating mainly plant based foods as per Fuhrman.
If eating, plenty of exercise, fresh air and sunshine.
For both methods, consider supplements such as iodine, vitamin B-12, DHA, and whatever Chrisb1 suggests.
I was trying to look up an old post by fasting2goal that detailed what the nutritionally dense foods were, but I came across one of mine instead which got a triple R, so here it is

Good luck wickedlylu, will give you all the support I can, but these days I am better at the eating side of fasting than the fasting side, but I am always ready to give plenty of advice on refeeding or eating in either method! ;)
