Re: electrolytes? (edit2)
I agree with you, and tend to agree with chrisb1, however the 50
pounds still remaining on wickedlylu's journey is a huge amount to lose, that's just too long to be safe for an unsupervised fast so it would have to be multiple fasts.
There will also be the problem of metabolic set points, and reduced metabolism. I think the body needs food and nutrients to make changes.
From my own experience the quickest way to lose weight is a healthy plant based diet accompanied by lots of exercise. In fact, I have just been reading JeanValijean's excellent post at
//www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1390457#i and may now go raw, if I do I think that may speed up my weight loss even more.
But I agree, if wickedlylu is now in a position where she has some good healthy reserve stocks of nutrients from healthy eating and is happy with everything, that's fine, but 50
pounds ain't all gonna come off in one fast.
It's took me about a year to lose 94 pounds, so that's a loss of 8
pounds a month. However I have lost 25 pounds between 25th January and 2nd April 2009 (67 days) when eating, that's 11 pounds a month. I could probably push that up to 15 or more if I took more exercise and ate less starchy veggies, but I am happy to reach my goal in the summer.
If anyone wants a blunt answer, go ask Dr Martin Ellingham. Sorry I mean Dr Fuhrman, lol!

The real Dr Fuhrman is at
http://www.drfuhrman.com and for around 6 dollars a month you CAN ask him questions, even about fasting, he is no stranger to fasting.
