Re: Does anyone have continuing GI issues?
Hi Karita,
I have an overgrown of candida yeast in my intestines and have some of the same issues, including TONS of
food allergies /intolerances. I am being treated for it with
Nystatin, and I also take 2 different probiotics, Theralac and saccharomyces boulardii by Pure Encapsulations. This has helped me a lot with heartburn/indigestion.
Antibiotic use seems to be the main cause of this, altho using hormonal birth control can also cause/contribute to this. I was having these food problems before Mirena, but I think that Mirena made it a lot worse. I also notice that I feel a lot better when I eat slowly/calmly and when I am calmer in general, so I do think there is a stress component involved also.
You might want to search for candida questionaires online to see if you have some of the other symptoms also, then you might have a better idea if that is a factor.
There are some herbal formulas out there that help kill the yeast overgrowth that you can buy online, or you could see a naturopath. You can always start taking a good probiotic to see if that helps your gut feel better.
Good luck !
Lena
