Re: update on Haley
Luella,
Well, it appears I worried about Haley for nothing! If I hadn't known better, I would have sworn nothing happened to her. She was running and trying to leap into my arms when I picked her up. When we got home, she ran for the house and I was worried she wanted water. I know that I needed to limit it because of the anesthesia. Wrong answer! She got her "bitty ball" (it's a small tennis ball type thing), put it in her mouth ON THE SIDE with the pulled tooth, and started chewing!!! She ran in the yard barking at kids going by and just pretty much acted normal. It definitely didn't affect her appetite!! I have to admit that I had been looking forward to spending the weekend in bed lounging around. Oh, well. I gave her a kind of crunchy treat Sunday evening (it's kind of like an oyster cracker -- thin, crispy, and hollow -- only it is liver flavored). I just wanted to see how she would do with it. She tried to chew in the normal location but couldn't. She looked at me funny and then moved it to a different place and chewed away. Now she is good to go on it. I won't give her anything harder for a while.
The sodium chlorite I use is about 1/5 the strength of
Miracle-Mineral-Supplement . Plus, I don't activate it before using it. I just put a little in the water container. It relies more on the stomach acid to "activate" but does keep bacteria out of the water. Some people call it Stabilized Oxygen. I tried
Miracle-Mineral-Supplement myself before. Not a pleasant experience!!! Sorry about this -- I threw up with more force than I think I ever had in my life!!! Couldn't restart it after that.
I started adding the
Colloidal Silver back in her water yesterday. When I got home from work, it looked like she drank more than she normally does during the day. Just hope her itching doesn't start up again -- hoping her past itching problems were from something other than the CS.
Thanks for all of your advice!
Mindy
