Sinus Drainage

I got the Grossan irrigator, and have a question.

The only time my nose drains is when I put my head way down.

Would that indicate where the infection is, or are my sinuses not formed properly for drainage?

There is an awful taste when it does drain, but all drainage looks clear. What do you think?
