If I understand the chemistry of Vitamin C correctly, the C content of the blood is very tightly controlled. It leaves blood stream relatively quickly and is used or stores in various glands. I believe the Liver and the Adrenals concentrate it the most.

Intravenous C, I've heard, is incredible for cancer. It wouldn't increase blood concentrations much higher than oral doses for very long, but you might get glands and organs full of it quicker.

Oral doses of 2-3 grams every 4 hours seems to do the trick for me. Pure ascorbic acid, not anything else.

Lower doses and my adrenals begin to get sick again. Anything higher and my tongue tells me. Doses higher than 2.5grams in one serving taste terribe. 2.5 and under taste REALLY good.

I would take as much as your tongue tells you to at one time every 4 hours.
