These are hard decisions we have to make these days. Good people and bad people all mixed together on both sides of issues. A person can be right in the middle of a war and still not know the in's and out's of what to believe is true.
The bible is full of explainations of what Christians can expect to happen. We must read and learn so we can be prepared but at the same time know that suffering is due to human decisions and satan having his hand in it all.
God knows the outcome and He shared it with the prophets of old. If we search the scriptures we too with the help of the Holy Spirit may gleam understanding. I do believe our country has been blessed by supporting Israel (scripture says to do so) but I also believe that we are to be a blessing to all countries in a manner that supports love and kindness if it is received well to do so, but any help that goes against scripture is to be avoided.
What are we to believe when the bible says that enemies will come against Israel and God will intervene and yet the Koran says that enemies will come agaist the Muslims and Allah will intervene? I just focus on God intervening and making the peace that is needed one day. And if we consider the Jews or the Muslims as our enemies, then we also go by what the bible says that we are to show love for our enemies. That way we do no wrong to either side.
Matthew 5
43"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' 44But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
