2 Questions - 5% or 2% Lugol's, and "bio-identical" hormones
Do you recommend the 2% or 5% lugols, and how many drops make about 50mg a day? Sorry, I've been checking the forum for about 1/2 hr and can't seem to find it. I've been using detoxified
Iodine and kelp, but in low doses but want to try the Lugol's.
Also... what do you guys think of "bio-identical" hormones for perimenopausal women? I know I am way out of balance at 41, the vanity thing is what finally pushed me to get some testing next week (hair falling out). I suspect in a way it is still just a band-aid on the problem, but I'm afraid to leave things too out of balance with what I suspect are fibroids and endo, not to mention the PMS, fatigue, low motivation and the libido in the toilet.
Will
Iodine correct it without supp. hormones? It seems like a lot of women feel a million times better when they do the bio-identical thing, and I want what they've got, but worried about long term effects, not to mention I'd think you would need nearly constant monitoring. I am thinking I may never get to the root of the problem (unless a whacked out thyroid is the root and
Iodine is the cure), in the meantime I would like to feel better if hormone supplementation doesn't ultimately make everything worse.
Sure would appreciate your thoughts....
