Re: You are entertaining me :)

Why would politicians what me to believe this? It is fact regardless of who want what...

Because certain politicians want you to believe that they are the solution to your problems and the economic problems.

Just go back to the new deal - government return to being referee - worked nicely before (well for the working man) Get back control of the money supply/printing.

Unemployment didn't sink as they planned.  I suspect there is a lot more global competition today than there was back then.   We decimated what competition there was during WWII.  We will see what happens and we will see who was right a few years from now.

The system that works well - 1/2 greed-capitalism 1/2 cooperation - socialism ( that is the real type of socialism which is bottom up power) the balance would be the best possible situation in my view. This is the idea of the "theory of Republican VS Democrat".

Bottom up power doesn't stimulate new jobs.  It stimulates unemployment and some workers become lazy because they can't be fired.  Why do believe capitalism is based on greed?  Don't you believe that there is self-interest in the system?  I know some liberals who want to see young people get ahead.  Is this not looking out for the interests of others?

Government gets out of the way of the biggest spender (the lobbying above and below the table) and into the way of the lesser spender or no spenders - In this manner companies have been crushed by the rule book (regulations)changing...

We can agree on this.  We the people have civics and any entity like a big business has lobbying power.  But that probably stops there.  This is one reason why I believe in Russel Kirk's first conservative principle.  Politicians will consult their abstract concepts of morality in order to make decisions and if their morality isn't based on defending the constitution then we the people are in trouble.

What does whole foods merging with wild oats have to do with anything?

Government stopped the merger because (I believe government believed) it would create an unfair monopoly.
