Re: Perioral Dermatitis
So I've been battling this perioral dermatitis phenomenon for just over two years, however I really didn't know what it was until about a year ago. Earlier this year I was using shea butter to keep it at bay - which worked okay - but every time I would try to stop using it for a day or two, a nasty outbreak would ensue. I knew I had to discontinue use of all creams / topicals, so that's what I did, and began doing both a morning and and evening greek yogurt mask, which worked for about a week, but only got me so far. Then I began drinking organic bragg's cider vinegar, as well as using it as a topical, and I had decent results but again, it could only take me so far. My face is world's better than it was last year at this time, and today I'm beginning the violet extract applications, hoping it will be the nail in the coffin. I'm still going to continue ingesting the cider vinegar, as well as taking oregano oil capsules once a day, and eating plenty of garlic and foods spiced with Turmeric, hoping that I can blast this condition once and for all. I, too, was prescribed Doxycycline after visiting a dermatologist last June, but hesitated to use it, as I knew it would only be a band-aid for my problem. I think I may have been having some slight yeast infection issues in my gut, which some believe can fuel the PD, so that's why I'm doing the internal stuff - which seems to be helping.
I'll be back to report my results!
P.S. - this is the only place I've read anything about the Violet Extract... Also worth mentioning, I ordered from HerbsPro.com, and it took me a week to receive my shipment. Not bad, if you ask me...
