I have insomnia bouts too, also where sleeping pills do nothing. I think it is either related with me to mercury detox, eating some kind of preservative, or lyme acting up. Anyway, saunas work the best out of everything. An hour just sweating it out, replacing the water I lose and minerals during that time. SSKI seems to knock me out most days, so that is something that helps on the extreme insomnia days. Also, taking an antihistamine sometimes helps. And lately zinc has been relaxing me.
My doctor calls it an overactive nervous system due to the things I mentioned, or bad stomach bugs.Sorry that the beer doesn't work for you...that is one of my favorite remedies. Usually my insomnia bouts are also accompanied by migraines and anxiety, and tension. Sometimes body aches.
