Yes, Hollith is correct, you can get Candida from a mother who has it. My mother had Candida while she was pregnant and I was born with thrush. I was able to fight it off because my immune system was strong, like my dad's. My mother DID breast feed me while I was a newborn (and so did her best friend) and I was able to fight off the thrush but was born with a milk allergy so was raised on goats milk from a local farm, after I finished breast feeding.
