P&B timing, Flax as alternative

I have read on the forum that P&B should be taken on an empty stomach. Can someone help me define “empty,” please? i.e., is there any specific time frame - how long before a meal, or after a meal? And, I'm doing a parasite cleanse using ParaGone along with P&B - ParaGone's directions say either 30 min before a meal or 3 hrs after. I wonder about the coord between ParaGone and P&B? Could I take them at the same time 30 min before a meal? (Started P&B while fasting, so I didn’t worry about an empty stomach – now that I’m eating again, I want to make sure I’m getting the most out of the program.)

Also, I had a dialogue with PTree regarding substituting flax fiber for psyllium – thanks for your response. You stated, basically, that flax was a good thing, but not a substitute for psyllium during a cleanse. I was wondering if you could expand just a bit. Just exactly what is it that psyllium does for you that flax doesn't? The women at the neighborhood health food store are very high on flax instead of P. They say flax is a whole lot easier to handle, doesn't require near the amount of water in order to do it's thing without becoming clogged up... I'm not sure they’re really "up" on cleansing, so I'm interested in your advice more than theirs, but I would appreciate a little more clarification on the diff between the two.

Thanks!
