Hello - Warning -mention of food- in regardings to eating habits of those around you before your fast and after.
I am not fasting at the moment, but I have been reading all the posts on everyone's progress and such.
I was at the grocery store the other day to pick up some fresh fruit and veggies, and as I was in line, I really looked at the stuff that people were paying for. Have you really ever really looked at the stuff that a lot of people put in their cart. It has been very clear to me for a long time that most of America is addicted to fast, convienent meals in a box, bags of junk and litters of sugar. The one thing that I also noticed that broke up the constant box, box, box, bag, bag box pattern was the large amounts of red meat ranging in ground beef, roasts and ribs.
No wonder people have a hard time eating healthy. Most of the food that is affordable and available to a person or families are junk. It is that junk that is causing people to be overweight and to have numerious health problems. Fast is good for the body, but if you don't take care of the problem at the source, then the action brought on by fasting will not be lasting and benefitial over a long period of time.
I have heard over and over again in my life. "You are what you eat"
I just am trying to remember if I eat badly and stuff my mouth with those mushy chocolate ho ho like things or deep fried cheese filled items, then my body will be mushy and clogged as well.
I guess I have been thinking very deeply about it specially since tomorrow is Thanksgiving. I am sorry if I raised any flags of hunger or disagreement. I guess I try to think alot after my fasts to that I don't get suck into eating the same things over and over again, which will cause the down fall to my healthy body.
