Re: The Myth of Alkaline Waters

Thanks, I forgot to mention the water we order is also reverse-osmosis purified. I may have wasted my money, but my chiropractor has been using the system for a couple of years and says the water, once mineralized and structured, cleans up excess calcium in the body, though who knows. Apparently the "ionized calcium breaks down the scale or build-up of dead calcium." The guy who sold it to me apparently knows someone who got rid of a bone spur drinking it, and that was the main reason I got it, since the chiropractor says he saw calcification in my carotid arteries on my X-rays (which I need to verify with a doppler or something). I'm only 41, so that freaked me out a little. I do find it easier to drink more of this water, and I assumed that was because of the structuring or smaller particle size. What they say is that it is better absorbed into the tissues and cells, etc., and I assume is a better carrier for the ionized minerals. They claim many people go through a detox for the first couple of weeks. I thought I was at first - acid taste in mouth with canker sores on my tongue, but that happened for a few days when I was using tap water in the system and stopped when I switched to running the purified water through it. My hunch so far is that some of the claims are valid, and some are hype. I do think, based on what I've read, that structured water could be really useful, and if I can still return the unit and decide to do so, I might look into using something else like a Vitalyzer to structure the water we have delivered. We were previously using Concentrace minerals in that water, and I don't know if the Roxtract minerals are any better or worse. The whole system is supposedly based on some Himalayan mountain glacier water that they think kept the people in that region who drank it really healthy and long lived, but like anything - what are the other factors... I bet they have less stress and pollution up there. Were they compared to nearby surrounding communities, etc. - I'm not sure.
