ALL about?

I recognize the temple of 70 A.D. and that Jesus spoke to "this generation", but explain the angels, bowls, and trumpets. The 3 aspects of God as explained by the 6th day creation is the spirit of 666, and the earth did quake at the crucifixion, the sun did not give it's light, but when were the days one third shorter?

Revelation 8:12
"The fourth angel blew his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, and a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of their light was darkened; a third of the day was kept from shining, and likewise a third of the night".


Matthew 24:29
"Immediately after the tribulation of THOSE DAYS the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken".


Even if understanding Revelation is allegorical comparison to past events, when were days ever shortened to 16 hours instead of 24? Are their any calendars that ever measured "days" as 16 hours?
