I know many Liberals who will give money (if they have it) directly to Homeless people or people in dire-straights that need a helping hand. I don't know any that give to Charities instead, sorry. And I have never met a Liberal in the lower income bracket.

Conservatives refuse to give directly to individuals because there's no Tax-write off, and because they falsely believe that all people in poverty are lazy or it's their fault because they can choose their own destiny and that they put themselves in that position etc.

I don't know where you've been but there's been way too much Freedom taken away in the last 8 years of Republican rule. So what are you afraid of now? What do you think will be taken away?
