Hi, I am 22 years old now and I too was diagnosed with the ptc when I was 15. I had to go through all of the spinals and MRI stuff as well, I went through it for almost 2 years before the doctors finaly figured out what I had and what they could do to treat it. I had a total of 46 spinal taps and 17 MRI's and CT scans. I was not over weight as a matter of fact I was under weight so don't let thoughs people tell you it is because of that! The reason I got my ptc is because of the birth control called depo provera, not because I was over weight or extremely fat. Anyway I saw this site and I just wanted to tell you that there is nothing to be afraid of with this surgery I had it and I am 22 now and also it does'nt really hurt. Just be thankful that you are not blind now.
