Re: Does anyone water fast every other day?

Yes I do agree that too much of anything to the extreme is not good. I wasn't thinking of someone that was anorexic or someone with bulimia fasting. It never even entered my mind, I don't know how we would know from the posts who had bulimia and who doesn't unless like you said we had been through that ourselves. I apologize for the misunderstanding. And yes I agree with you I think it would be dangerous to fast if a person was bingeing and purging and fasting in between times. I just don't know how we could tell from a post that was what is going on.

It seems that you were talking about people with anorexia or bulimia and I was talking about people like me that can't seem to go for more than three days like you said. I have only done one three day fast and I broke it with fresh juices and fruit, I didn't binge and purge. I did want to continue but the detox that I was having scared me so I broke the fast. I have since been learning everything I can so that this won't be a problem for me when I start again Monday. We were talking about two completely different issues. The point I was trying to make was that some people have a hard time carrying out a fast to completion the first time like I did but want to try again and again if need be and we need support.

Being healthy to me means getting rid of all the toxins I have fed my body over many years and reaching my goal weight, I will accomplish both through fasting. It means eating only what my body needs and like you said not having to count calories. I have learned that if we properly combine our food we should be able to maintain our weight we shall see. I would like to start exercising after the fast on a regular basis. I used to walk four miles a day and it was really all I needed to maintain my weight but when I stopped that it crept back up on me. I can lose weight without the fasting that is not my main reason for doing it, it is that I want to reset my body to eat healthy food and that also has to do with the mind. I also wouldn't mind having some of your energy to work out like you do, lol.

Again, no hard feelings its just I thought you were talking about people like me (without an ED) who really do need support when fasting.
