Re: Does anyone water fast every other day?
I think you entirely misunderstood my point.
Yes 'mouseclick' has lost a ton of weight fasting.. but you do forget he also changed his *lifstyle and *habits, the source, as well as the others who have lost a ton of weight while fasting- not like a lot of these people yo yoing and stuffing their faces and binging and then going back to fasting.
I never condemned anyone btw I am just speaking from yrs of experience which I think I have the right to.
And there are a HUGE percentage of people on here yo/yoing, and doing it as a quick weightloss. I am never going to encourage non purge of bulimia. I am sorry but I have been a member here for yrs, a quiet one. but still YRS and I see the SAME people yo/yoing. When does it cross over to an actual eating disorder? Never because they are 'fasting'? Please You know how many times I fasted, binged, fasted binged, fasted and did cardio 3 hrs a day with that do drop quick weight when i was struggling from an eating disorder? but should I say I never had one because I was 'fasting'? Too many people throw the word fasting around. Fasting isn't a quick fix, and is a TINY percentage to breaking addictions. You can fast til the cows come home but if you don't break the habit and the source in your mind you will, as you said fail and start again and continue that cycle whilst reaking havoc on your body.
With as much time as they have spent yo/yoing and thinking fasting is the be all end all (some same people here for yrs) they could have had a healthy diet, re learned how to eat properly ecercised and toned up and would be in decent shape by now.
I don't know your background, but I can say it took me YRS after fasting and binging and fasting and binging.. and straight up fasting over exercising to get my body into a healthy manner. I am not sure what constitutes as health in your eyes, but to me having a restricted diet (ie the up and down cal restriction) for the rest of my life is not healthy. Health to me is to be able to eat moderately correctly w/out counting calories and being on some diet constantly, and being active. I'm not saying someone has to live in the weight room and compete like I do, but still being a slave to diets and *always* on some fast to weightloss, yes that is yo/yoing and I will never personally encourage it. Abusing fasting in this manner will screw up your body. Its like anything too much extreme is not good. Moderation, and fasting and yo/yoing every other week is abusing fasting. The people I am talking about don't even ever get past 3 days or do an extended fast with an actual plan (going back to mouseclick)
I think its funny has anyone except me on this board actually lived with a serious ED and understand the effects and how people use fasting as a main tool for an ED and then took yrs to actual recover properly?
If I were condemning people I would be attacking peoples posts and using names.
I am voicing my opinion as you are.
Anyways I digress on this subject, I stand firm with my beliefs. I'm not gonna be Miss we are the world PC constantly like most people on this forum when I see people abusing their bodies.
Its sad that there was someone on here with a bulimia issue and I saw many posts encouraging her to fast.. I mean what hell seriously? I was one of the few that disagreed with her and gave her my opinion whether she took it or not. I mean hello? why don't we encourage an anorexic to fast while we are at it, I mean after all it is FASTING right? I nevr hear anyone on here saying mentioning that said person may be developing an ED, it is fact that fasting has caused eating disorders and is also used a main tool to those with ED's as well as this severe restriction diet.
Do I need to post a link of an ED group for you guys to see the resemblance from the posts here and there?
anyways be well.
