Hi again....I so totally agree...these kids need laughter...not the mean, hurtful laughter they so frequently encounter...just good fun, silly laughter. And it does catch them off guard, and sometimes, even they are surprised that they are laughing.
On another note, I was given a movie to show my group of kids. For the first 45 minutes, not a dry eye was in the room. Some of the kids who are hardened, seemingly void of emotion sat with the kleenex. And now, 2 weeks after I showed it, the kids still ask and talk about it, bringing various topics of discussion, how this movie impacted them and any similarities. So if you get the chance and see it on t.v. again, it's called "Homeless to Harvard." A true story that Lifetime aired. I'm not sure how old the movie is, but still seems current.
I'll keep you posted on the progress of my newest angels, but it seems like the year is going to be interesting again...
