Re: huge ascaris problem,help...

Xrayu,

In addition to herbal treatment, there are some acupuncture/bleeding/moxa/cupping techniques that are very helpful in cases of roundworm. I have only recently begun such treatment, so it is too early to tell of its ultimate effectiveness; however, so far it has been really effective in opening and clearing the cecum, pacifying my emotions, and opening up the breathing.

The following protocols are not fully understandable to laypeople like me; however, any trained acupuncturist will comprehend them even if they are not very experienced with them. I include them as a reference that can be offered to an acupuncturist or doctor of TCM as you negotiate your treatment. Unlike herbs, these treatments are not something parasites will develop resistance to.

Not all acupuncturists will perform these treatments. The needling in protocol #1 is very labor intensive. Here in the US, moxa and cupping are not done all that often; bleeding is done almost never.

Be forewarned! The bleeding treatment is not for sissies, but it really helps.

Please consider these methods, as they are backed by 4000+ years of medical knowledge and experience.

With wisdom and diligence, parasite problems can be overcome. May your health improve with each passing day!

Formulas which transform parasites

1. Si Feng quiet roundworms formula

Source: Xian Dai Zhen Jiu Yi An Xuan (A Selection of Modern Acupuncture & Moxibustion Case Histories)

Indications: Parasite accumulation abdominal pain, upper abdominal pain which is difficult to bear and which may reach the upper back and rib-sides, vomiting of food mixed with clear water, no thought for eating and drinking, oral thirst, constipation, yellow urination, and a deep, rapid pulse

Treatment principles: Free the flow of and regulate the abdominal qi, quiet roundworms and stop pain

Rx: Si Feng (M-UE-9), Nei Guan (Per 6), Zhong Wan (CV 12), Zu San Li (St 36), Yang Ling Quan (GB 34), Ling Tai (GV 10), Du Shu (Bl 16)

Method of use: Use a three-edged needle to bleed the Si Feng points and press out a yellow-white, sticky fluid. Then needle Nei Guan, Zu San Li, Yang Ling Quan, and Ling Tai using even supplementing / even draining technique. Retain the needles for one hour, moving the needles one time each five minutes. Use warm needle method on Zhong Wan 3-5 times and retain that needle for one hour. Then do cupping on Du Shu.

Formula explanation: Parasite pain is categorized as liver-stomach qi pain. It is mostly due to eating and drinking unclean things. The viscera and bowels thus lose their regulation and the qi becomes stagnant with damp obstruction. If depression endures, it transforms into heat which engenders parasites.

Si Feng is a main point for the treatment of gan accumulation and intestinal parasites. It can quiet roundworms and stop pain. It is the ruling point in this formula. Zhong Wan is the mu point of the stomach, while Zu San Li is the lower uniting point of the stomach. These two points can fortify the stomach and move the qi, free the flow of the bowels and stop pain. Nei Guan is the network point of the pericardium and is also one of the eight vessel intersection points, connecting with the yin wei mai. It can loosen the chest and rectify the qi, regulate the stomach and stop pain. Yang Ling Quan is the lower uniting point of the gallbladder. Therefore, it can free the flow of the gallbladder bowel qi, rectify the qi and stop pain. Ling Tai and Du Shu are located in the area of the heart and stomach. They are chosen as local points. They can regulate the heart and stomach qi and blood, rectify the qi and stop pain.

2. Ri Yue roundworm reversal formula

Source: Xian Dai Zhen Jiu Yi An Xuan (A Selection of Modern Acupuncture & Moxibustion Case Histories)

Indications: Roundworm reversal, severe right-sided rib-side pain, vexation and oppression, vomiting, sometimes occurs, sometimes stops, occurrences of pain leading to vomiting, vomiting of roundworms, hand and feet reversal cold, chilly sweat dribbling and dripping, and a slippery, rapid or faint, rapid pulse

Treatment principles: Course and disinhibit the liver and gallbladder, rectify the qi and quiet roundworms

Rx: Ri Yue (GB 24, right), Tai Chong (Liv 3, right), Yang Ling Quan (GB 34, right), Zu San Li (St 36, left)

Added points following the condition: During the remission stage, bleed Si Feng (M-UE-9) and Bai Chong Wu (M-LE-34) with a three-edged needle and press out a yellow-white, sticky fluid. Then needle San Yin Jiao (Sp 6) with supplementing technique in order to fortify the spleen and expel parasites.

Method of use: First needle Yang Ling Quan and Tai Chong. After obtaining the qi, angle the tip of the needle upward. Twisting the needle until the needle sensation is propagated to the area of the disease [sic]. The use even needling technique on Ri Yue, twisting the needle until the needle sensation reaches the area of the heart. One can also use electroacupuncture on each of these points. Retain the needles for 30 minutes.

Formula explanation: Roundworm reversal refers to roundworm parasites in the bile duct. This is mostly due to undisciplined eating and drinking. If roundworms enter the bile duct, they result in liver-gallbladder qi stagnation. This then results in the onset of acute, severe aching and pain. This pain is so severe that the yin and yang qi do not mutually flow together and check one another. Because of this, there is reversal chilling of the four limbs and great sweating which dribbles and drips. Liver-gallbladder qi stagnation is the main pattern of this disease. Therefore, treatment should mainly course the liver and disinhibit the gallbladder.

Within this formula Ri Yue is the mu point of the gallbladder. It is able to free the flow of the gallbladder bowel qi. It is also located in the area of the gallbladder bowel and has a marked action of stopping pain. It is the ruling point of this formula. Yang Ling Quan is the lower uniting point of the gallbladder. When the uniting and mu points are combined, they can course and free the flow of depressed and bound gallbladder qi. Tai Chong is the source point of the liver channel. It can course the liver and resolve depression. Zu San Li is the lower uniting point of the stomach. It can support earth and repress wood, rectify the qi and stop pain.

3) Dispersing foods & transforming parasites formula

Source: Lei Jing Tu Yi (Appended Charts to the Categorized Classic)

Indications: Roundworm and parasite heart pain, yellow face and emaciated body, poor digestion, parasite accumulation abdominal pain, bad breath, constipation, thin, yellow tongue fur, and a deep, rapid pulse

Treatment principles: Fortify and move the spleen and stomach, transform parasites and disperse food

Rx: Ju Que (CV 14), Da Du (Sp 2), Tai Bai (Sp 3), Zu San Li (St 36), Cheng Shan (Bl 57)

Added points following the condition: One can add Si Feng (M-UE-9) to this formula in order to increase and strengthen its power of transforming parasites. Bleed those points with a three-edged needle and press out a yellow-white, sticky fluid.

Method of use: Moxa Ju Que with 7-10 cones. Then needle Da Du, Tai Bai, Zu San Li, and Cheng Shan with draining technique. Retain the needles for 30 minutes.

Formula explanation: Parasite accumulation is mostly due to eating and drinking unclean things. Thus dampness and heat are engendered internally in the spleen and stomach and thus parasites are engendered. Parasite accumulation then obstructs and blocks the qi mechanism and the spleen and stomachs’ [sic] movement and transformation lose their normalcy. Food and drink collect and accumulate and thus the digestion is not good and there is bad breath and constipation. Since the finest essence of food and drink does not enrich and nourish the muscles and flesh, the face is yellow and the body is emaciated. When roundworms and parasites harass and stir upward, there is arching pain in the region of the heart. Therefore, the methods of treating this disease are to fortify and move the spleen and stomach, disperse food and transform parasites.

In this formula Ju Que is the mu point of the heart. Moxaing it can regulate and rectify the heart qi and blood and treats roundworms and parasites leading to the arising of heart aching and pain. It is the ruling point of this formula. Da du is the construction point of the spleen channel. Draining it can clear depressive heat from the spleen and stomach. Tai Bai is the source point of the spleen channel. Draining it can clear heat and move the spleen qi. Zu San Li is the lower uniting point of the stomach. Draining it can rectify the qi and disperse food. Both spleen and stomach channel points are used in order to fortify the latter heaven. These are the main adjuvant points. Cheng Shan is a point on the bladder channel. Draining it can treat intestinal tract qi stagnation. When these five points are used together, heat is dispelled, dampness is dispersed, parasites are eliminated, and the blood is vanquished. This then results in pulmonary abscess. The great method for treating this is to diffuse and drain lung heat, free the flow of the network vessels and downbear the qi.
