If it is going to cause a problem, it would be in the short term. It does not last very long. It degrades to sodium chloride (table salt). I don't even believe it will cause any short term drastic problems either. It would, if you were to take it undiluted. It is supposed to be able to even "burn" (chemical burn) your skin when applied without dilution. Though, that has not happened to me; especially when I applied it directly to a small solar keratosis. Nothing.
