Re: Mirena for PreMenopause?
I'm replying because I'm a little older than you and anticipating Mirena
as soon as my next period starts to end - also a smoker and have been having
cramps so severe last month I couldn't believe it. Periomenapause??? Maybe. Debilitating - YES.
I've had a 10-Year Perigard for the last 10 years and it's time to come out w/it's
replacement being this Mirena. Last May, my hip's gone out and I've had trouble
walking since and wonder if they are connected - my 10 years is up in Sept. and the
cramps also have been more severe since May too. My bleeding is not as severe, but
my periods are 3 weeks and I had 2 in July - almost the whole month.
I thought I'd establish diaglog since we are close in age and near the same treatment. I'll try & let you know what Mirena does to me.
Just something I have done - have you thought about acupunture at all? I have been doing it since July and it's helping. I'm sure it depends on the practitioner, but it's August 19 and I have not yet had a period. Could just be a menopause thing.
Anyway - keep your chin up. This is a weird time - to say the least. The changes
are disconcerting.
