Mirena for PreMenopause?

I had Mirena placed on Oct. 31,2007.Because I had been experincing constant bleedind,prety much 24/7.
I am a 46 y. o. who knows her body.
My Gyno told me,through blood tests,that I was not pre-menopausal.But I was very anemic.
My only option was this mirena because I am a smoker...(( I know..It is tough to quit! ))
Meaning that I could not take those estrogen based birth control pills.

I saw absolutely NO change in my cycle until about 1 to 2 moinths ago.I actually went almost 3 full weeks with no bleeding! WoW!!
But now I am back to the same routine of practically no break in between Aunt "Flo's" visits..It goes back & forth all of the time,bleeding alot & not!
No Sex drive,No joint pain,no weight gain,not sure about the depression,I am Bi-Polar..But I am tired all of the time,naps are my faV THING TO DO!

Has anyone else have Mirena for premenopausal like symptoms..??
So tired of this..But OI am afraid if I have it taken out I will go back to my old ways of Constant bleeding!!!
