Yes, Iodine messes with hormones, big time. After I started supping, I had one perfect period and then nothing, for seven months. Then an 8 day period, and then nothing again for 5 months. Now they're back....
I'm not concerned because I figure that eradicating FBD is more important than a normal cycle at this point in my life.
I'll be 49 soon and had been perimenopausal for a few years before starting iodine.
I have no doubt that the BC that you were on did something, I took the pill for all of two months and it took a couple of YEARS for my cycle to normalize...
The answer to your question has to do with your comfort level with self-treatment.

Search the terms "menstrual" and "period", etc. within this forum. You'll see all sorts of irregularities reported.
