Re: TMAU Testing at the Mayo Clinic

I just wanted to let everyone know my Dr gave me a prescriiption for Flagyl today during my appointment.I asked him about Neomycin and he told me it's rarely prescribed anymore because it can cause kidney problems...not sure about that. He did not prescribe any type of laxative. Does anyone have a suggestion?

I'm going to my local hospital tomorrow to see about the urine test and sending to the Mayo Clinic. I'm not sure if they will be able to help since this is a rare disorder.

Before I left the office my doctor asked me if people complain about the odor. I had to laugh, I couldn't hold it back and of course I said "Yes".

I'll try to keep posting if there is any progress and hope that this helps in some way.
