Profiled in all his ugliness in The New Yorker this week: Billionaire Sheldon Adelson is the third richest man in America, a huge funder of birthright israel, Bush’s election campaigns, the ZOA, the Republican Jewish Caucus (check out the new RJC Watch blog, by the way), One Jerusalem, AIPAC…the list goes on. You’re looking at the sugardaddy-Godfather of American (Jewish) right-wingery here.

As the New Yorker is prone to do, the article spans a whopping twelve pages, detailing the origins of his money in gambling, his use of campaign connections to Tom DeLay and others to scuttle a bill opposing China’s Olympic bid because it threatened a casino he was building in Macoa, and his vindictive funding of opposition to former political allies (or withdrawing a $250K pledge to a synagogue and giving it to Chabad instead, after the rabbi refused to cross a union picketline at one of Sheldon’s hotels). The man has also been sued by his own three sons for purportedly defrauding them.

Wasn't Bill Gates, whose wife has been involved with the Bilderberg meetings, a guest at the recent Bilderburg meeting?

In a bold move just days after the completion of the annual Bilderberg meeting, Microsoft Founder and Chairman Bill Gates has announced that he will transition away from day-to-day responsibilities within the Microsoft organization, to allow more time to focus on charity work with his $29 billion "Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation."

"This was a hard decision for me," claimed Gates, in a press conference shortly after his first confirmed Bilderberg attendance. "I‘m very lucky to have two passions that I feel are so important and so challenging. As I prepare for this change, I firmly believe the road ahead for Microsoft is as bright as ever."

Quite simply, the Bilderbergers are preparing Bill for a political career. His neatly crafted "focus on the Foundation" excuse is the perfect setup for a Bill Gates White House run in 2012. (Bloomberg/Gates?) Watch for Bill's activities with the Gates Foundation to become increasing visible and humanitarian; perhaps a seat in Congress or the Senate, maybe even a UN appointment or ambassadorship to fatten the portfolio (as if "World's Richest Man wasn't enough for the ones whose votes are counted)....

Isn't he the guy who personally flew Arnold Schwartzenegger to meet Lord Jacob Rothschild?
