I have used 3 different types of kelp, the first had a good dose of iodine per serving (Ascophyllum nodosum) the next had a VERY high dosage (Laminaria digitata), and on this I started getting hard to control body acne, especially on my upper back, its weird as this was not an issue since my high school/poor diet days from like 7-10 years ago
I have since then switched to Algit kelp (dark brown in color), and the 'bacne' severity has GREATLY lessened...another thing to note, on Laminaria digitata I did have increased anxiety (which can be a real pain to cope with)
These were my findings, good luck in finding your dosage, and remember not all kelps/foods out there will work the same on everyone
Also I see that ML recommends more Ca/Mg with the kelp...one problem I ran into with more Mg (from epsom salts) is loose BMs/runs...so choose the extra Mg wisely, or space it out thoroughly
